「she’s leaning against the car by this point; limbs lazily folded over her chest. a short nod comes alongside her statement, shoulders rolling in the process.」
❝ uh-huh. but even the great asami sato needs to step away from the wrench once a day.❞
“Alright, alright. I suppose I can step away for a little while.”
And she does; she removes her gloves and tosses them over a toolbox sitting on her workbench, finally putting her focus back on the important things— like catching up with Korra.
“So— how does it feel being back in Republic City?"
“And how well has construction been going on your end?” Kuvira asked, looking forward to when the two lines met in the middle, or closer to Republic City, if she had her way.
“Well, so far we’re ahead of schedule and as long as we don’t have any hang-ups we should stay that way. Things are changing, for the better.” This was going to change the way everyone travelled. Getting to other nations would be easier than ever, and Asami, as the CEO of Future Industries, felt privileged to be steering the world in a more modern direction.
“I asked what you thought of the progress being made now that labor’s been reorganized,” the new president answered, surveying the magnetic rail stretching from Ba Sing Se into the horizon, and Republic City in the next couple months.
Asami takes this moment to pause her work, mulling over the question. Things were certainly changing—- fast. “Oh! Well, I’m glad things are getting done and advancing, but I suppose I’m a a little biased in that regard,” she laughs.
